ETT - Medium Frequency Furnace Transformer for Induction Heating
The Furnace Transformer is an integral component in induction heating and melting processes, particularly for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Its design is coupled with an inverter circuit to facilitate medium frequency voltage application, usually at 500 or 1000 Hz, to the induction coil. This coil is responsible for generating the magnetic field that induces eddy currents within the material charge, effectively raising its temperature. The transformer's features include a wide range of voltage classes from 3.3 to 33 kV, Dyn11 vector group configuration, and customizable tap ranges to adapt to various on-load and off-load conditions. Adhering to standards like IS-2026 and IEC 60076, its construction includes copper windings with multi-layer paper insulation ensuring operational efficiency. Available for both indoor and outdoor use, this transformer is a versatile solution for demanding applications in metal processing industries.
Ferrous and non-ferrous metals require induction melting and induction heating and the Furnace Transformer is designed to serve that purpose. The design of the Furnace Transformer connects it with the inverter circuit to apply a medium frequency (in general 500 or 1000 Hz) voltage to the induction coil. The induction coil produces the magnetic field to induce eddy currents in the charge to heat it. However, the rate of heat generation can be enhanced with medium frequency. Here is a brief outline –
- Induction Furnace coil is made of heavy copper tubing
- Pad-mounted Transformers - both in and outdoor
- Multi-paper covered copper conductor
