The system can also be used on the ground. The racking system has pallets underneath the panels on which heavy concrete blocks will be placed. The weight of these blocks keeps the solar panels on the flat roof.
The weight of rocks or concrete blocks is used in ballasted systems to resist wind uplift and seismic shaking forces acting on the solar array. Ballasted systems typically consist of interconnected rows and columns capable of (partially) transferring point loads from one module to multiple neighboring parts.
The MRac PV ballast system is a non-penetrating mounting system that will not leak or cause other problems and can also be adjusted to be fixed to the roof as needed. The ballast system mounting kit is compatible with all 60 or 72 standard solar panels and is also suitable for most other panels.
