Our drying process.
Yilkins’ industrial drying technology is engineered for high efficiency and low energy consumption, using a two-step drying process with swirling fluidized bed technology. First, our main dryer gently dries biomass with overheated steam at atmospheric pressure. Through condensation of the evaporated water out of the feedstock, a high heat recovery rate is established. This recovered heat is used in the pre-dryer step.
The result is an exceptionally energy-efficient biomass drying solution, that reduces the CO₂ footprint and improves the performance of downstream processes like torrefaction and carbonization.
