Heat recovery units RCU-HE provide the necessary ventilation and recover a high percentage of energy, present in the exhaust air. The heat gained from recycled air is transferred by means of a hygroscopic rotary recuperative heaters to outer, colder air that gets pre-heated, thereby reducing the thermal shock as compared with inside temperature. During summertime - when the outer air is characterized by high temperature and humidity - these recuperative heaters similarly allow to pre-chill outside air if combined with an air-conditioning plant.
