Cooley - Model C3 Plus PVC -High-Performance Commercial Roofing Membranes
Developed in 1988 and commercialized in 1990, the original C3 formula (with Elvaloy) continues today to prove its reliability and durability. The C3 Plus product entered the market in 1994 with Cooley’s patented ultra-high-strength Aramid yarns added along the fastener edge to provide maximum tensile strength and puncture resistance where it counts the most. C3 is a proprietary formulation blending DuPont™ KEE (ketone ethylene ester) and PVC. This unique blend offers superior UV performance and the highest chemical resistance in a single-ply roofing product.
C3 FB is manufactured with the same C3 formulation as C3 Plus with the addition of a non-woven, polyester fleece-backer for fully-adhered applications. The fleece is impregnated into the film while in its molten state (not post-laminated or glued). C3 FB can be installed in hot asphalt. After evaluating a 17-year-old C3 FB membrane installed in hot asphalt, testing showed no trace of asphalt bleeding through the membrane. This is testimony to the superior chemical resistance of C3 FB credited to the Elvaloy content.
