CGH - Insulated Tanks
Every tanks from CGH can be supplied with heating and insulation. This applies to aboveground tanks according to EN12285-2, underground tanks according to EN12285-1 and vertical tanks according to DIN6618. The tanks can be manufactured as single skinned or double skinned tanks. It is primarily the medium in the tank as well as the conditions on-site that determine the need for heating and insulation. Many media like biodiesel and heavy fuel (HFO) must be kept at a certain temperature to be usable / pumpable, while other liquids should simply be kept above 0°C. Regardless of the need, CGH has a solution for the current task.
There are different ways the contents of the tank can be heated and the solution is always adapted to the current project
- Heat coil mounted in the tank`s manway. For hot water or steam.
- Heat hose mounted at the bottom of the tank. For hot water or steam.
- Electric tracing / heating cables around the tank outside.
- Heat cartridges mounted in sleeves / flanges.
The amount of heat to be supplied to the tank depends, among other things, on the medium`s operating temperature, ambient temperature, insulation thickness, temperature of the medium in the heating coil / heating hose or the power of the heating cable / heating cartridge.
Aboveground tanks are typically insulated with 100 or 200 mm tank insulation, which is covered with a plate. The cover plate can be made out of many different materials according to customer wishes and needs. Standard cover plate is 0.7 mm aluzink, but aluminum, lake water-resistant aluminum and stainless steel plate are also among the options.
Insulation of underground tanks is typically made by approx. 100 mm waterproof PU foam.
