Custom PowerLarge Modular Battery (LMB)

SHARE

The Custom Power Large Modular Battery (LMB) is made up of three separate injection-moulded building blocks that connect to meet the voltage and capacity needs of your specific application. You can add extra 5P increments to increase the capacity, and you can also increase the voltage from the standard 7S configuration (24V) up to an impressive 224S (830V). Our integrated Battery Management System (BMS) with CAN communication gives you greater control over the module, allowing you to manage passive cell balancing, charger control, and other GPIO features. The Large Modular Battery (LMB) also includes a custom wire-bonded board that can be adjusted in length and configuration based on the current and voltage requirements of the module.

Custom Power Large modular battery packs are meticulously designed for reliable continuous daily usage in harsh environments where shock, vibration, and varying temperatures are likely to be experienced.

Currently in development, the modules will be available in both 24V and 48V formats off the shelf but can be scaled up according to your application requirements.

Our standard 24V model will be made up of a 25.2V 22.5Ah 567Wh brick and our 48V model will be made up of a 50.4V 22.5Ah 1.134kWh brick. Both variants of the module are designed to meet IP54 rating with the custom aluminum enclosure.

  • Highly modular battery system allows customizable cell configurations to meet the voltage and capacity requirements of the application.
  • Utilizes any 21700 cells – cells can be selected to match the requirements of the application (i.e. power cells, energy cells).
  • Configuration capacity can be increased in 5P increments (5P, 10P, 15P, etc.).
  • Configuration voltage can be increased from 7S (typically 24V for NMC) up to 224S (typically 830V for NMC).
  • Utilizing power cells allowing discharge rates of 3C+.
  • Integrated Battery Management System with CAN communications (option for J1939), passive cell balancing, charger control, other GPIO.
  • Active or passive thermal management controls.
  • Standard modular components bring the benefits of high-volume manufacturing to low volume customized battery systems.
