The UNC-LED lighting element is designed for specialized applications, particularly within the medical field such as laryngoscopes. Featuring a standardized UNC thread, this LED element is constructed from a combination of a plastic body and a brass sleeve, ensuring an efficient installation into designated devices. Operating within a voltage range of 3-5 volts and a current consumption of approximately 80 mA, the device provides sustained performance with a battery life of up to 20 hours. By incorporating a constant current source, the LED maintains consistent brightness despite fluctuations in battery voltage, an advantageous trait for surgical applications. The device has a relatively low power dissipation of 0.2 watts, supports custom light temperature settings, and boasts a lifespan exceeding 10,000 hours. UNC-LED - the versatile lighting solution

 

The abbreviation UNC stands for Unified Coarse Thread, which corresponds to a standardized thread. 2E develops and produces LED elements for a wide variety of applications based on MID (Mechatronic Integrated Devices) technology, which can directly replace existing solutions such as halogen lamps.

 

Structure and application of the UNC-LED

 

The basic design is no different from a standard MID-LED element. The special feature is the metal sleeve into which the light element is installed. This has a UNC thread at the bottom, allowing it to be quickly screwed into suitable devices. Such lights are used, for example, in medical technology for laryngoscopes. In general, LED technology also allows for a smaller component size compared to halogen lamps, as significantly less current flows and thus less waste heat is generated.
