SOLID-H™Model CL-370 -Metal Hydride Hydrogen Storage Container

SHARE
The CL-370 Metal Hydride Hydrogen Storage Container from Element One Energy is a high-capacity, efficient solution for storing hydrogen in a solid-state form using advanced metal hydride technology. It has a hydrogen capacity of 370 standard liters (14 scf) and is constructed with durable aluminum and brass fittings. With a cylinder diameter of 3.2 inches and an overall length of 8.8 inches, the container is designed to be compact yet robust, weighing 6.3 lbs (2.9 kg). It undergoes a destructive proof test exceeding 7200 psig (490 bar) and is equipped with a pressure relief valve set to release at less than 550 psig (37 bar). The discharge rate varies based on the application, typically requiring hours to release the majority of stored hydrogen, although complete discharge of the largest containers may take days. The recharge time is about one day under standard conditions, with options to accelerate this process via enhanced cooling methods. The container supports different alloys (A, L, M, or H), with Alloy A providing the maximum capacity. Element One Energy also offers heat transfer enhancements to further improve charging and discharging rates.

Note 1: The discharge rate depends on many variables. We can help you select a SOLID-H™ metal hydride alloy and hydrogen container(s) that will meet your hydrogen flow requirements. In general, you should not expect to empty the entire hydrogen capacity in a matter of minutes. Hours are required to withdraw 90% or more of the hydrogen capacity from a standard** metal hydride container. The largest SOLID-H™ containers require days to discharge completely.

Note 2: The specified recharge time is for cooling by still air at 20℃ and the charging pressure specified in the SOLID-H™ manual for Alloys A, L, M or H. A fan will shorten charging time.

*Absolute capacity at diminishing rate for Alloy A. With Alloys L, M or H the absolute capacity is decreased to 330 standard liters (12.7 scf).

**It is possible to discharge a metal hydride in a matter of seconds. This requires extraordinary heat transfer enhancement inside and outside of the container. We can provide heat transfer enhancement to improve the charging and discharging rates of our SOLID-H™ containers.
