SOLID-H™Model BL-220 -Metal Hydride Hydrogen Storage Container

SHARE
The BL-220 Metal Hydride Hydrogen Storage Container, offered by Element One Energy, is a state-of-the-art solution for solid hydrogen storage. Utilizing the innovative SOLID-H™ technology, this container allows for efficient hydrogen storage and release. The discharge rate for the stored hydrogen depends on various factors, and while quick discharge is possible with enhanced heat transfer techniques, it generally takes hours to extract 90% or more of the hydrogen from standard containers. The largest SOLID-H™ units may require days for complete discharge. Additionally, recharging is facilitated at 20℃ with prescribed parameters mentioned in the SOLID-H™ manual, with the possibility of accelerated charging using fans. Standard alloys L, M, or H offer reliable capacity, while alloy A can increase the absolute capacity to 242 standard liters. The container is designed for those requiring a robust and reliable hydrogen storage system that integrates easily with existing systems while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Note 1: The discharge rate depends on many variables. We can help you select a SOLID-H™ metal hydride alloy and hydrogen container(s) that will meet your hydrogen flow requirements. In general, you should not expect to empty the entire hydrogen capacity in a matter of minutes. Hours are required to withdraw 90% or more of the hydrogen capacity from a standard** metal hydride container. The largest SOLID-H™ containers require days to discharge completely.

Note 2: The specified recharge time is for cooling by still air at 20℃ and the charging pressure specified in the SOLID-H™ manual for Alloys A, L, M or H. A fan will shorten charging time.

*Absolute capacity at diminishing rate for Alloys L, M or H. With Alloy A the absolute capacity is increased to 242 standard liters (9.2 scf).

**It is possible to discharge a metal hydride in a matter of seconds. This requires extraordinary heat transfer enhancement inside and outside of the container. We can provide heat transfer enhancement to improve the charging and discharging rates of our SOLID-H™ containers.
