Omya - Model Omyabond 160 -Ultra-Fine Functional Calcium Carbonate
Omyabond 160 is the ultra-fine functional calcium carbonate to replace fillers for high modulus adhesives and sealants. It is now possible to achieve the mechanical and rheological performance of Ultrafine Precipitated Calcium Carbonates with the low carbon footprint of Ground Calcium Carbonates.
Omyabond 160 provides excellent anti-slumping behaviour and good yield control.
This mitigates the use of other rheological modifiers (like fumed silica) and fillers, as well as in high modulus adhesives and sealants (MS polymer, SMP, STPE, SPUR applications) providing improved reinforcement for demanding applications.
Omyabond 160 stands out among ultrafine grades due to its low product carbon footprint (PCF). It has been externally assessed to generate just 214 kg CO2e per dry metric ton to produce.
