SynGasPhotovoltaics System

SHARE

PV systems: energy cost reduction and climate protection. With the help of PV modules, sunlight can be converted into electrical energy via a photovoltaic system (PV system). This is made possible by the so-called photoelectric effect, which was discovered by Heinrich Hertz in 1887. However, it was not until the 20th century that the effect could be explained physically and then used to generate energy. Today, the technology can be found on many buildings, where it not only generates electricity from free solar energy, but at the same time makes an enormous contribution to reducing energy costs and protecting the climate.

How does a photovoltaic system work?

The way a photovoltaic system works is closely linked to the solar cells it contains. They are what convert the sun`s radiant energy into electrical energy. The generation of electricity can be explained in simplified terms in two steps.

More information

Step 1

Energy generation with solar cells

When light falls on a photovoltaic module (PV module), electrons are released in the solar cells. The positive or negative charge carriers collect at the electrical contacts. This generates a direct voltage between the front and back of the cell.

Step 2

Power conversion with the inverter

The direct current produced by the solar generator is then converted into alternating current by an inverter. With its 230 or 400 volts alternating current at 50 Hz, this can either be used directly in the house or fed into the public grid.
