Powerhouse cranes A high capacity top running double girder electric overhead crane used in the operation of hydropower generating stations during the construction phase and throughout the economic life of the installation. In large powerhouses, where the heaviest components to be handled can range from 100 to 1 000 tons, a single crane or a combination of 2 cranes operating independently or in tandem can be used.
