Buyofuel - Sawdust Biomass Fuel

Sawdust is a byproduct of sawmills and woodworking operations, consisting of small fragments of wood generated through cutting or grinding. Recognized as a type of biomass, it is a renewable resource utilized both directly and after processing into pellets or briquettes as a fuel source. Sawdust offers properties such as a gross calorific value ranging between 2700 to 3000 kcal/kg, moisture content of 30 to 40%, and an ash content of 8%. Extraction typically involves a vacuum or dust collection system. This versatile material finds applications as a fuel in stoves, boilers, and furnaces, as well as in animal bedding, composting, and soil enhancement. In India, the sawdust market is expanding due to the significant waste generation from the large woodworking industry. With the rise of biomass utilization as an alternative to coal, sawdust serves as a cost-effective, clean-burning, and abundant energy source.
