The Slim Jim geyser blanket is energy efficient as it utilizes the highly reflective surface and low emmisivity of aluminium foil. These characteristics of aluminium foil create an excellent barrier to heat loss through heat radiation. The surface fire index of the aluminium foil is excellent, falling into class A of the SABS 1381 specification. A geyser can use up to 60% of a monthly domestic electricity bill.
