Its advanced converter allows for the system to use solar energy during the day rated up to 65 SEER, while only using just 50 watts on average when using solar during peak when panels are all pointing south. At night since the system is grid tied, it is able to operate as a traditional 21 SEER heat pump for heating or cooling.
The advanced solar air conditioner operates for pennies a day (during peak hours on solar) with 90% or more of the power coming from sunlight. In addition to its ability to cool with solar, the solar heat pump will provide solar energy heating operating as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit to 125 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer.
The advanced solar air conditioner needs no batteries (although we have another model "hvac anywhere" that can be off-grid with solar batteries). The system comes with 3 american made 300watt solar panels installed south, west or combination.
During the day when its hot, when your advanced solar air conditioner is needed the most, you can run this unit with very little power (average 50 watts during peak on solar) from your utility meter. At night the advanced solar air conditioner will still save big running at an astonishing 21 SEER. The solar mini-split air conditioner is very quiet and runs in many stages. The 1-ton solar system will take day time loads from your massive whole house system so you can get a head start on evening cooling or heating delivered to where it`s needed without the loss of non-insulated duct systems in the attic. The system is tied to a 220 volt power source required so the system is able to negotiate on sunny days and cloudy days for cooling or heating. During the day with solar the system is operating up to a 65 SEER system cooling up to 750 sqft.

Advanced Solar Air Conditioning Cooling & Heating Augmentation
Augmenting a space heating or cooling system with solar makes perfect sense. In addition to heating or cooling a small area, it allows you to add capacity to an existing system, or reduce the load on an existing system, either or both of which can save you money and add comfort. Solar augmentation also allows offsetting of higher daytime electricity rates and reduces the amount of early evening catch-up required by the normal system. Effective SEER 35 for the ACDC air conditioning system are based on the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) annual performance factor (APF) method for heat pumps and air conditioners (10CFR part 430). Estimates of annual solar energy production are calculated for a centrally located city in each DOE heating region, using National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s (NREL) PVWatts, Version 1. The annual solar energy production is an estimate and is based upon a fixed-tilt south-facing array free of shading, with a module tilt angle equal to the local latitude of the installation. The annual solar energy production is included in the APF calculation as a reduction of the cooling season power consumption. In this example, the air conditioning unit is an ACDC (SEER 19) one ton unit located in Region IV (represented by Omaha, NE at 41° N. latitude) and with two solar modules rated 235 dc Watts each.
