The Terex® Stretch 16 screed delivers the proven performance and reliability necessary to meet today’s quality paving specifications.
Through years of experience and contractor input, our engineers have designed the Stretch 16 screed to lay the smoothest, highest quality mat possible. Contractors have won numerous mat smoothness awards using Terex paving equipment.
Designed for operator convenience, the Stretch 16 provides infinitely variable paving widths from 8 to 16 ft (2,438 to 4,876 mm) at the touch of a button. All adjustments—slope, match height, crown and mat thickness—are easily controlled by the screed operator.
Electric-over-hydraulic controls are standard for slope, crown, extend/retract, match height and mat thickness to provide easier, faster setting of these critical adjustments. ACME thread ball-joint adjusting rods and cranks allow the screed operator to make quick, easy manual adjustments of screed angle-of-attack.
A hand-held remote control unit on each side of the screed gives the screed operator immediate control of extension width, auger override and other adjustments. A long control cable allows the operator to move to appropriate locations for good visibility when difficult paving situations arise. You have your choice of an electric or diesel screed heating system. Electric screeds are thermostatically controlled for accurate temperature setting and provide smoke-free operation. The Terex diesel heating system has the most serviceable burners in the industry. No tools are required for disassembly or adjustment.
A telescoping walkway that’s always level, even when fully extended, provides full-width access for screed operators. A strong, rigid ladder, handrails and crosswalk to the tractor provide security for personnel. Also, warning horn buttons are located on the paver console and screed controls.
Electric-over-hydraulic power systems are simple, reliable and accurate. Ease of maintenance cuts profit-robbing downtime. Power for the hydraulics comes from the tractor-mounted pumps.
Tough, 18 in (457 mm) reversible screed plates are hardened alloy steel to provide high wear-resistance and longer service life.
There are more profit-producing features noted on the following pages—features that let you do a job with greater accuracy, less handwork and more flexibility to handle condition changes.
These advantages can be yours even if you have an older model paver because the Stretch 16 can be retrofitted on virtually any paver. Check with your Terex Roadbuilding distributor or call 1-888-TEREXRB for more details.
