We make record-setting 20+% conversion efficiency full-size cells in our labs, and we average 19+% efficiency daily on our production lines - manufacturing the world`s highest commercially-available cell efficiencies using low manufacturing costs.

Suniva is led by many of the most renowned PV scientists and manufacturing experts in the world, coupled with a leadership team of seasoned high-tech industry veterans - a unique combination in the solar industry. Working collaboratively, our teams have developed the exacting solar cell properties and proprietary manufacturing processes that enable Suniva to deliver high-power solar cells and modules while reducing the cost of the PV value chain. Our Origins

Suniva evolved from America`s premier crystalline PV research center - the University Center of Excellence for Photovoltaic Research and Education (UCEP) at the Georgia Institute of Technology. UCEP`s founding director, Dr. Ajeet Rohatgi, is also Suniva`s CTO. Dr. Rohatgi is highly regarded as one of the world`s leading research scientists in PV technology, with more than 15 world records in solar cell performance. He has been honored with numerous awards, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Climate Protection Award, the IEEE William Cherry Award, and the U.S. Department of Energy/NREL`s Rappaport Award. Under the leadership of Dr. Rohatgi, UCEP brings together a unique approach of cell modeling, device design, process optimization, and materials analysis. The Center of Excellence has progressed far beyond its academic research environment; its emergence as a valuable resource to government and industrial partners led to the formation of Suniva. Today, Suniva holds exclusive rights to more than 40 granted and pending patents developed by Dr. Rohatgi, UCEP and Suniva`s own R&D team.
