TFP produces Supacool, a range of high performance cryogenic tissues. The materials are lightweight, glass fibre tissues which are usually co-wound with a metal foil and then inserted between the inner and outer walls of the cryogenic vessel. The range includes Supacool M, a binder free microfine glass tissue suitable for liquid oxygen vessels and Supacool T, which is a short chopped glass fibre product containing a small amount of organic binder.

Supacool M is a binder free microfine glass tissue with no organic constituents and is available in areal weights of 12.5 g/m² & 15 g/m².  The material is non-flammable, non-outgassing and contains <1% moisture.  Once the tissue has been interleaved with aluminium foil it is ideal for use as a cryogenic spacer tissue and, since it contains only non-combustible materials, it is particularly suited to the production of liquid oxygen vessels. The tissue also has a high thermal stability and can withstand temperatures of up to 500°C during heating in order to aid evacuation of the cryogenic vacuum system. It can also be supplied co-wound with aluminium foil for ease of processing.

Supacool T is a 10g/m² glass tissue which has been developed as a high tensile alternative to Supacool M.  The material contains approximately 5% organic binder which aids the vessel wrapping process by minimizing any tissue breakage.  The material has a large void volume which aids evacuation of the cryogenic system and can withstand temperatures of up to 190°C if heating is necessary for the removal of any remaining volatile residues. However, as Supacool T contains an organic binder, it is not recommended for use with liquid oxygen storage vessels.

Both Supacool M and Supacool T are available in rolls with a maximum width of 1270mm (50") or narrow coils with a minimum width of 50mm (2").
