The turbojet engines of the PBS TJ40 family are specifically designed for small aircraft within the small turbojet engine category, such as target drones or loitering munition. They feature a compact design, low weight, and the thrust of 395 – 425 N.
The PBS TJ40 are a single-shaft engines equipped with a one-stage radial compressor, radial and axial diffuser, annular combustion chamber, one-stage axial turbine, and outlet nozzle. They are lubricated with fuel oil mixture.
The PBS TJ40 engines stand out for their easy and fast start, and repeatable ground and in-flight restarts. These attributes, combined with the compact dimensions of the engines and their capability of saltwater recovery, make them highly suitable for UAVs and similar applications.
