The Cable Detector VR1 'Wirehound' is engineered for the detection of explosive devices, specifically focusing on wires and cables used in IED activation. Utilizing ground-penetrating radar (GPR), this high-sensitivity device is capable of detecting a variety of materials including plastic, wood, and metal. Its design ensures ergonomic handling for extended usage periods. The GPR search head has a diameter of 30 cm and provides audio, visual, and vibratory alarm signals. The device is watertight with an IP68 rating, capable of 1.5-meter immersion for up to an hour. It adheres to the MIL-STD-810F standards, ensuring robust performance under extreme conditions, with operational temperatures ranging from -31°C to +63°C. The VR1 comes with both rechargeable lithium polymer and conventional alkaline batteries, with operational times of approximately 10 and 4 hours, respectively, at ambient temperatures of around 20°C.
