Ayantra - Model FleetGen - Web-Based Monitoring System for Transportable Generators
FleetGen is a web-based monitoring solution for managing transportable generators. It provides 24 x 7 monitoring and sends alerts when significant events occur, thus enabling fleet managers to protect their fleet, avoid outages, and enforce service intervals. The GeoFence and Curfew features help protect remote equipment from theft and abuse, and the up-to-the-minute engine run-hour info enables rental organizations to improve their revenues by applying usage-based surcharges on each invoice. Shipping since 2010, FleetGen has proven itself through an installed based of 25,000+ units. Transportable generators are often un-managed because they are typically located out-of-sight and they are often moved. Lack of oversight often results in missed service calls and lost revenues.
Generators must be monitored to ensure optimal performance. Portable generators are particularly difficult to monitor, since they are frequently moved. Key challenges include:
- Tracking each generator`s Location
- Logging each generator`s Engine Run-Hours to ensure timely maintenance services
- Detecting Faults and responding effectively to each Fault event
- Maintaining Usage Logs to satisfy regulatory agencies (CARB, AQMD, and other agencies may require detailed reports of each machine`s
- accumulated Engine Run-Hours and utilization by location)
FleetGen is a web-based wireless monitoring solution for managing generators. FleetGen can manage any make or model of generator, and it easily supports hybrid fleets. With the average cost of a truck roll @ $75 or more, remote generator monitoring starts to pay for itself right away.
- An Ayantra monitoring unit installed on the generator
- Ayantra-provided wireless messaging services
- An Ayantra-provided website to deliver information about each monitored generator

FleetGen automatically sends a daily update message regardless activity.
FleetGen automatically reports each time the generator is turned ON and OFF.
Each FleetGen monitoring unit includes six user-configurable Inputs to report Faults. Each Fault event can trigger real-time Alert Notifications sent as text messages and/or as email messages directed to specific recipients. Typical examples include: Common Alarm; Low Fuel; Engine Temperature; Oil Pressure; Engine Overcrank; Engine Overspeed
FleetGen can report if the generator is moved from its proper location, or if it is utilized during an improper time of day or night.
Utilizing Ayantra’s unique “Tru-Batt™” technology, FleetGen reports the generator’s true Battery Level (meaning the Battery Level is measured without assistance from the Battery Charger). FleetGen can also send real-time Alert Notifications If any battery or alternator problems occur.
Authorized users can use the FleetGen website to remotely Start and/or Stop any monitored generator. Two forms of operation are supported:
– Manual Start / Stop: users can command the generator to Start and Stop upon demand
– Automatic Start / Stop: users can configure the website to automatically Start and Stop the generator according to a pre-defined schedule
FleetGen can send “Service Due” reminders as each machine approaches its service interval. Service intervals are user-configurable, and each reminder can be directed to specific recipients.
Authorized users can collect up-to-the minute updates from any machine, at any time
FleetGen provides utilization reports to comply with California AQMD reporting requirements (similar reporting capabilities are available for other states).
The database information can be exported upon demand.
