Ingenia is specialized in the production of biodiesel from more cost-effective but also difficult materials such as animal fat and used cooking oil and has developed processes to do so. The more cost-effective raw materials such as tallow, yellow greese and used cooking oil are often further refined while crude biodiesel needs to be purified to meet the EN 14214 standard too. Ingenia designs and consults on these processing steps (bleaching, degumming, water washing, steam stripping, fractionating). The transesterification and refining steps are optimized in our laboratory.Ingenia is involved in the realization of several biodiesel plants (5000-150000 tonnes a year) and is mostly responsible for the licensing procedures, supplier selection, basic engineering, quality control and commissioning.
