Biomass and Biogas

Expanding the use of renewable energies is a priority task – and this is also the case in Germany. New laws and rising costs of fossil fuels have improved framework conditions for the use of renewable energy carriers, making biomass energy which utilises local resources a cost- effective alternative.

  • In the wood industry (e.g. carpenter‘s shops, sawmills, furniture factories, construction firms)
  • In community heating plants to supply commercial and municipal facilities (community heating is a future option for economic and ecological heat and power supply, complementing traditional forms of energy supply)
  • In rural properties to produce energy from available energy carriers

Energy carriers

  • Untreated wood and waste wood
  • Plants, plant material and energy carriers produced therefrom
  • Biodegradable waste as defined in the Ordinance on Biodegradable Waste
  • Waste and other organic matter of plant or animal origin.
