Continuous Energy Optimisation
This process looks at all the services in an existing building and how they are performing individually and together as a system. We identify inefficiencies and potential for energy savings by reviewing control strategies and re-commissioning and replacing faulty or inefficient plant. We monitor and verify energy use and savings on an ongoing basis to ensure the building remains efficient at all times. The results of this continuous process can produce significant energy savings and, unlike a one-off energy audit, maintain these on an ongoing basis.
And if that is not enough to convince you – we guarantee the savings!
We are currently implementing CEO in commercial office buildings, such as the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, airports and hospitals to reduce energy not by 5% or 10% but by 30-50%.
CEO is not an untried new process but is in fact tried and proven. It has been utilised overseas for many years and has gained attention globally as a process that is associated with achieving and maintaining significant long term energy savings. For this reason, CEO is the process we are using to achieve our vision of reducing energy usage in commercial buildings by 50%.
The process begins with a detailed site survey and energy balance followed by a comprehensive analysis of the operation of the building’s physical plant and control strategies. Following this we identify and implement low and no cost energy conservation measures (ECMs), to achieve the agreed energy savings target and also identify larger capital cost ECMs which our client may choose to implement to achieve substantial energy reductions.
Following implementation we undertake an extended period of Measurement and Verification (M&V). This step provides the answer to “did we get the results we promised?”. ECOsystems performs M&V according to the internationally recognised standards outlined by the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP).
