These electric utilites, energy providers, and other companies have implemented Avian Protection Plans to help reduce the electrocution of avian species, i.e. eagles, hawks, osprey, and other wildlife on their electric distribution systems and substations. They are also concerned with the number of electric outages ocurring on their electric systems, both momentary and permanent. Implementing wildlife outage protection not only helps their customer service it also reduces their costs associated with equipment damage.

The majority of these companies have impemented wildlife mitagation techniques on new construction.

A number of utilities are concerned with enviromental issues and their impact on our environment. Their 'green' awareness and stewardship serves both their customers by reducing outages and the wildlife which interacts with their equipment, poles, and conductors. It's a win-win.
