Data Distribution Service
Global Weather Service: eSight’s new Global Weather Service provides an advanced service to access and record weather data for over 8,400 global locations, making it simple to better analyse energy consumption against local temperature, assess building energy efficiency and improve forecasting of future energy consumption.
Users simply enter their global location as a city...
Users simply enter their global location as a city, US zip or UK postcode. eSight then automatically returns the closest verified weather observation stations for the user to select their desired location feed.
The user may then select the weather data type they wish to receive - dry bulb, wet bulb, relative humidity or heating/cooling degree days.
Weather data will begin to be collected and recorded every hour - providing an efficient, reliable and accurate service for monitoring energy consumption against temperature factors.
Due to the way Global Weather Service data is collected and recorded within eSight, it is also possible to use this information as with any meter data - for graphical analysis, calculated meters etc.
Degree Day and Calorific Value Services
eSight Energy offers a service to provide degree day and calorific value data to your database automatically.
Degree day data may be used to understand the relationship between energy consumption and outside air temperature.
Calorific values enable you to convert gas meter readings into energy. With accurate calorific values, eSight will translate your gas consumptions, often metered in cubic meters or cubic feet into kWh’s. This enables you to better manage your energy consumption and compare gas more easily between sites or against electricity consumption.
United Kingdom
For UK-based customers, we provide a service to update your eSight database with daily calorific values and weekly degree day data. We deliver 6 heating and cooling degree day values as a weekly figure for 18 degree day regions across the UK and 4 regions within Ireland.
Calorific Values are distributed daily for each of the 16 local distribution zones.
United States
For US-based customers, we provide a service to update your eSight database with weekly and monthly degree day data from NOAA. We deliver heating and cooling degree day values as weekly and monthly figures for 360 degree day regions across the US.
