2007
BUSINESS FORMATION
In 2007 a team of process engineers succeded in the development of floating fixed-bed gasifier, a revolutionary process for the generation of electricity and heat from biomass. Until now this technology is an essential key component for the success of SYNCRAFT.

2009
PROTOTYPE POWER PLANT BUILT
As part of the research project "PowerBox" the first prototype power plant based on floating fixed-bed technology was built in Schwaz / Austria. This project was largely funded by the Tyrolean government within its so called K-Regio program.

2010
INCORPORATION OF AUTOMATION DEPARTMENT
In 2010 the company Osl Elektrotechnik with many years of experience in timber industry was incorporated in the company group. From this point, the focus of the automation department lay on the development of control and automation for the floating fixed-bed technology in addition to its established business fields.

2014
WOOD POWER PLANT CONNECTED TO THE GRID
After about 7 years of development, the first commercial wood-gas power plant was connected to the grid in South Tyrol in 2014. With an electrical output of approximately 259kW, the plant provides currently around 400.000 kWh of electricity and heat per month.

2016
RESEARCHED NEGATIVE EMISSIONS TECHNOLOGY
A young researcher at the University of Applied Sciences Vorarlberg succeeds for the first time in generating a clean Life Cycle Assessment about a SYNCRAFT wood power plant, where the potential of charcoal becomes apparent. If the charcoal is used f. e. for soil use, the wood power plants are already producing negative emissions today. Since then, SYNCRAFT has been offering a negative emissions technology.

2017
PATENTED EXHAUST GAS CONDENSATION TECHNOLOGY
SYNCRAFT`s engineers succeed in developing a patented exhaust gas condensation technology that is tailored to the company`s own needs. This makes around 20 % additional heat available, which largely enables the wood chips to be dried, thus raising the overall efficiency of wood power plants to over 90 %.

2018
CHARCOAL ACHIEVES EBC PREMIUM QUALITY
For the first time, charcoal from a staged gasification system (hybrid pyrolysis) achieves EBC premium quality. The company EnergieWerk Ilg GmbH is awarded the EBC Premium Certificate. This redefines the high quality of charcoal from SYNCRAFT systems.

2020
SYNCRAFT DOUBLES
SYNCRAFT doubles itself and its installed wood power plants for the third time in a row. In 2020, as many wood power plants will be commissioned as in the first ten years combined.
