Geothermal Project Phases Services
From Funding to Revenue Generation, Thermal Energy AG’s milestone steps in the development of a portfolio of geothermal projects:
Investment funding for the development of a portfolio of geothermal energy projects, operated by Thermal Energy AG, will see progress through the following milestones:
The purpose of this study is to confirm the project viability technically and financially. The data collected from the Exploration stage will be used to construct technical, working and financial models. The eventual outcome will provide an overview of the scope of the project – energy generation, project cost, financial returns, project timescale, technical requirements.
The Feasibility Study is the deciding point at which decisions are made as to how and when to commence the active element of the project. A drilling location will have been determined upon and, the drilling plan, compiled during the Feasibility Study, will be implemented.
Once the drilling depth and target have been achieved, a series of tests are undertaken, such as pump tests and temperature measurements.
Construction of the power plant begins upon completion of the various drilling and associated tests. Timely commencement of construction will have been allowed for by the early formulation of a construction plan, including the ordering of materials and equipment at an early stage. This is essential in order to avoid unnecessary delays in completing the project and operationally commission the power plant.
With completion of the construction stage of the project, the commissioning process of the power plant begins. Initial start-up tests are run and, as soon as these are correctly completed the geothermal power plant is fully operational. It will then begin to fully generate electricity and thermal heat for sale and distribution into the grid-network.
