Landfill Gas Extraction

HMW has provided design services for several landfill gas extraction systems for municipal clients in South Carolina and Georgia. Typically, this process involves a pilot test in order to determine extraction well spacing in order to provide a sufficient barrier in order to intercept landfill gas before moving offsite and/or to provide optimum well spacing in waste cells. Once the system has been designed using data collected during pilot testing, landfill gas extraction wells are installed and connected to a collection piping system. The landfill gas is transported to a flare, where it is burned. HMW provides all required permitting, design, bid documents, and construction management through the entire process.
