Environmental Laboratories Inc. (ELI`s) extensive experience with air quality, solid waste characterization and waste water sampling has been the foundation of our understanding of landfill gas generation (LFG) and control strategies. ELI provides its clientele with in-depth expertise related to LFG generation, composition and migration. ELI`s involvement in projects begins with inception of LFG generation rates and implementing collection/migration controls.

Capabilities

ELI employees comprehensive evaluation and investigation methodologies in the area of LFG control. Discrete services include:

  • Determination of landfill gas production flow rate.
  • Determination of landfill gas quality, i.e. O2, CO2, N2 and methane compositions.
  • Determination of landfill gas non-methane organic compounds, i.e. volatile and semi-volatile hydrocarbons.
  • Determination of odorous compounds.

Migration Control Systems
ELI provides a complete range of technical services to meet the needs of LFG control systems including:

  • Well field studies and balancing to optimize LFG control system operation.
  • LFG migration studies to establish control system effectiveness.
  • LFG Gas Flare performance/compliance testing to establish flare exhaust pollutant emission rates and control efficiency for non-methane organic compounds and odorous compounds.

Leachate Sampling
ELI provides a complete list of wasterwater pollutant parameter testing of leachate samples. Programs include pollutant concentrations, leachate generation and storm water runoff generation.

Ambient Atmosphere Testing
During LF remediation/closure activities, ELI provides both continuous monitoring and time-weighted sampling for airborne pollutants. These services are provided within the remediation zone, to ascertain worker exposure; and at off-site remote locations to establish public exposure. All testing is performed utilizing methodologies to ensure the highest quality data available in the industry.
