Common Questions and Answers:
What benefits can I expect from entering a partnership with EDF Renewable Energy?
When we select a site for potential development, EDF Renewable Energy negotiates an agreement with the landowner, with the option to lease land following the completion of an on-site wind analysis. Lease terms are typically 20-40 years and provide the landowner with a payment based on energy produced, or fixed annual payments
Currently, your livelihood may be impacted by weather extremes. A wind energy lease can provide a consistent and reliable source of income to help buffer these financial variables.
How do you select a site?
There are many factors that support selection of a site, including:
- An average annual wind speed of at least 13 mph
- Location nearpowertransmission lines
- Environmental and visual impacts
- Market for the power
How will this project impact my land?
Once construction begins, it normally takes about six months to construct a wind project. Wind turbines and service roads typically use less than 10% of the land under lease, which means dry land farming, grazing, or other uses are minimally impacted.
