Limits of Current Mixing Theory and Studies
The practice is pumping more water or create more vigorous turbulence to flush up the solids at the bottom. Turnover ratio is a key parameter for chemical industry to calculate the production rate. As current products try to produce more turbulence as design target, turn over ratio becomes a vague concept and difficult to estimate. The new products produce dispersive effect and turbulence is not of consideration, the turn over ratio is easy to calculate. This provide a powerful tool to chemical engineers to estimate the production rate.
Physical (Pilot) Test
We have set up a series of pilot tests to simulate various applications. For example, if your focus is solids suspension, there is only one key parameter is required to design the mixing equipment: the minimum velocity to move the solids at the bottom (on-bottom motion speed) even at the very corner is required. This will be tested in a device we developed.
Computing (CFD) Modelling
CFD model will be employed to provide the key design parameters. Once the minimum bottom velocity is determined, the second step will be using the CFD model to predict the power input, diameter of impeller, rotating speed, etc. to achieve the minimum velocity required at any position. With both tools, the final products will be guaranteed to provide satisfactory mixing performance.
As our products do not rely on turbulence for mixing as products in the market, computing modelling becomes easier and more accurate.
