MPI Manpower Services
MPI manpower provides all the expertise required for the full scope of offshore construction. With over ten years of invaluable experience installing the latest generation of offshore wind turbines, MPI have relied upon not only the absolute capacity of the Wind Turbine Installation Vessel fleet it owns and operates, but the dedicated and professional teams of construction crews that make MPI Offshore a world-class offshore construction contractor.Skilled rigging personnel for the wind industry
MPI Manpower offers a vast database of suitably qualified and experienced personnel to complement the services provided by the other divisions of MPI. Rigging resources can be fully tailored to suit project specific requirements, from onshore logistics through to offshore installation of WTGs and indeed operations and maintenance works.
From the inception of MPI and the use of MPI Resolution as a WTIV, it became apparent that a core team of dedicated rigging professionals that grows with the vessel would best complement her capabilities.
This early notion for the company has been born out in more recent times through MPI Manpower, which was established to cater for the needs of an ever-growing MPI fleet of WTIVs along with the general expansion of the offshore wind industry.
Rigging crews are regularly provided on the MPI Resolution, MPI Adventure and MPI Discovery to facilitate a vast array of installation projects including, but not limited to:
- Monopile and jacket foundations
- WTG topside components
- Sub-station installations
- Meteorological masts – installation and removal
Project requirements will dictate the exact make-up of a team of riggers, but typically a squad consists of a supervisor, six riggers and an improver.
Typical crew and skillsets MPI Manpower can provide:
- Riggers / welders
- Rope access technicians
- Bolting technicians
- Mechanical / electrical hook up technicians
- Deck superintendents
- Appointed persons
- Offshore construction managers
Whilst the primary employment of MPI Manpower labour is onboard the WTIVs, onshore logistics is becoming a key element of the business and we can offer resources to both build up WTG components, and manoeuvre them FAS ready for load out. In particular, this element of work can be provided in tandem with SPMTs from MPI Equipment and Engineering expertise from MPI Consultants thus encapsulating the primary aspects of the activities.
Qualification of our riggers is paramount, and as such they are supplied to meet the most stringent criteria. As a minimum all levels of personnel hold a valid Personal Survival Techniques and an ENG1 Medical Certificate. In addition to this basic requirement, project-specific qualifications such as working at height, confined space, and trade specific qualifications can be fully catered for as required.
