The Murphy Group continue to keep the heart of a country beating with power and energy engineering expertise. Established in 1951, our experience in electricity services is supplemented by the latest technology advances, enabling our highly-qualified engineers to provide a cost-effective, one-stop shop in the management, design, installation and maintenance of electrical HV/LV solutions in transmission and distribution.
The division has carried out cable laying and substation contracts for EDF Energy, CE Electic (NEDL/YEDL) and National Grid as well as major installations in tunnels such as the Olympic Park.
In April 2007 Murphy, Siemens and PB Power were awarded the “Electricity Alliance North”, to support National Grid’s increased investment in the electricity transmission network and to ensure future security of supply. The works comprise new infrastructure such as wind farms and other electricity generation plants, cover enhancement and replacement of existing assets and ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of the electricity network.
These collaborative contracts involve the whole supply chain and take into account the total life of the assets for safe and sustainable delivery with a strong emphasis on health, safety and the environment.
