Safeguard Service
The Safeguard Service is regulated by specific resolutions of the Authority and reserved for a specific category of users.
A2A Energia was selected through a public tender procedure, for the supply period from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2024, as the electricity supplier of the safeguarded service in the territories of Lombardy, Tuscany, Marche, Sardinia, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Piedmont, Valle d`Aosta, Trentino Alto-Adige.
Law no. 125/07 of 3 August 2007 established the safeguard service for all companies and public bodies that were left without a supplier and that are the owners of at least one medium or high voltage supply point or only low voltage points with more than 50 employees or with an annual turnover of more than 10 million euros.
The parameter offered by A2A Energia for the years 2023-2024 is equal to:
- €29.97/MWh for lot 1 - Liguria, Piedmont, Valle d`Aosta and Trentino Alto-Adige
- €15.90/MWh for lot 2 - Lombardy
- €24.97/MWh for lot 3 - Veneto, Emilia Romagna and Friuli Venezia Giulia
- €21.95/MWh for lot 4 - Tuscany, Marche and Sardinia
The prices applied are established on the basis of the provisions of the ARERA and the calculation methods established by the Minister of Economic Development for the fees to cover the costs of supplying wholesale energy, dispatching services and marketing costs.
In particular, A2A Energia applies to the energy supplied and the related network losses:
- a fee equal to the monthly average of the purchase prices on the offer system, differentiated by time slots and increased by the value of the omega parameter (Ω);
- the sum of the fees to cover the costs relating to the dispatching service (with the exclusion of the costs for the effective imbalance and the non-arbitrage fee);
- fees to cover metering, transmission and distribution costs and to cover system charges and surcharges pursuant to the tariff regulation of electricity transmission, distribution and metering services;
- the CSAL fee to cover the charges for arrears, applied pursuant to article 48.11 of attachment A (TIV - Integrated text of the provisions of the Authority for the provision of electricity sales services under greater protection and safeguarding - resolution 208/2022/R/eel and subsequent amendments)
