Sol Systems was founded by Yuri Horwitz and his college friend and current business partner, George Ashton in 2008. At the time that Sol Systems was founded, Yuri was working as a clean energy lawyer, specializing in wind development, and George was working in finance.

From the start, our team has been committed to growing profitably and sustainably by bringing innovative project finance solutions to the solar industry. When we began, our primary focus was on aggregating SRECs throughout the East Coast and the Midwest. Since our inception, we have helped finance over 35 MW through our SREC services. We built this success through our partnership with various solar installers throughout thirteen different states.

Sol Systems offers its SRECs services to suppliers of electricity and generators of renewable energy, thereby creating a market in which both parties can buy and sell SRECs with ease. Our objective is to work with our partners to establish long-term relationships with low transaction costs to maximize the value of each SREC. We accomplish this through low margin, high volume partnerships and a superior level of customer service.

In 2011, we launched our solar project finance services, with the goal of bridging the gap between commercial and utility-scale solar developers and investors by matching your development needs with investor capital. In the last two years the firm has emerged as one of the most dynamic solar finance firms in the country, with a primary focus on providing tax equity solutions and distributed generation financing solutions. Through our suite of financial services, including a focus on niche markets such as New Market Tax Credits, investment tax credits, and SRECs, our experienced solar project finance team is committed to providing the industry with the knowledge and resources to transact efficiently, thereby quickening the tempo of solar project development.
