Thorizon - Thorizon One Reactor Services
Thorizon is preparing to revolutionize the future energy landscape with the Thorizon One reactor. This innovative reactor design will provide 250MW of industrial heat, suitable for direct use in chemical processes or hydrogen production. Furthermore, it can convert this heat into 100MW of electricity, sufficient for powering 250,000 households. Alternatively, it offers the flexibility of turning 100MW into 50-300MW of capacity, permitting energy storage during low-demand periods and release at peak times. The reactor features a replaceable cartridge design, mitigating material degradation while accelerating development and licensing by using proven materials. Thorizon collaborates with industry leaders, research institutes, and consultants to achieve a breakthrough in carbon-free energy systems by turning nuclear waste into a stable and flexible energy source that complements renewable energy. Thorizon aims to commence building the first reactor by 2030, offering a turnkey solution at a competitive cost of approximately 60 EUR/MWh.
Thorizon One
The Thorizon One will provide 250MW of industrial heat. This can be directly used in industrial processes, for example in the chemical industry or for hydrogen production. It can also be transformed into 100MW electricity, enough to power 250.000 households. In addition, the Thorizon One can turn the 100MW into 50-300MW of flexible capacity, storing energy when demand is low and releasing it during peak hours.
We offer our customers a turnkey reactor. That means we take care of licensing and building the reactor, together with our partners. After that, our reactor is easy to operate for our customers. We do all of this at a competitive cost (LCOE) of ~60 EUR/MWh.
