Transmission Services
This subsystem provides support for all activities associated with cross-border energy transmissions and congestion management, in particular with the capacity allocation and nomination. Main functional areas of transmission services include long-term, day-ahead, and intraday allocations of transmission capacity in both explicit and implicit auctions, management of capacity rights, secondary market, nomination management, including international matching and special nominations, capacity curtailment and real-time transmission reductions, risk management and financial security and automated data interchange with market participants and authorities.
System Services
Transmission system operators use the system and ancillary services to ensure the quality and reliability of energy supply at the national transmission system level and to meet their international obligations. Quality mainly involves frequency and voltage parameters, as defined by Grid Codes in accordance with ENTSO-E RGCE standards. The subsystem provides for procurement of balancing power (forecasting of needs, setting demand, purchasing in tenders, day-ahead and intra-day markets), contract management, operational scheduling and evaluation and settlement of both balancing reserves and power. Other features include support for managing transmission losses, for regional balancing energy markets (GCC, TERRE, MARI, Picasso) and for external communication (SCADA, metering systems, ERP, BI/DWH and others).
Settlement Services
This subsystem of Damas MMS covers all the processes and activities associated with the responsibility to physically and financially evaluate and settle all energy trades. It covers the following major functional domains: receiving and processing of bilateral trades between balance responsible parties, checking the scheduled volumes against available financial security (risk management), aggregating metered values and balancing energy volumes, calculating the total system imbalance, imbalance amounts and prices for each balance responsible party. Furthermore, this subsystem provides settlement services for all other modules and their commodities, resulting in regular aggregated payments, transferred to accounting and invoicing systems.
