How xHeat works
xHeat works by preventing unnecessary boiler duty while still meeting the space comfort demands of building occupiers.
It does this by constantly balancing the equilibrium between system heat supplied by the boiler and the call for heat, usually controlled in larger buildings by BMS set-points. This is achieved by using control algorithms to ‘learn’ and then predict the optimum water temperatures required to maintain efficient supply in keeping with space comfort requirements.
The result is optimal balance between heat supply and building demand – and all achieved with lower energy consumption.
While existing anti-cycling control technologies share the same objective as xHeat, they are based on a principle of constant adjustment linked to BMS demands rather than intelligent learning. In other words, they operate rather like a car going too fast on an unfamiliar journey…constantly braking to vary the speed to stay on the road. With xHeat, the route is learned intelligently, so that braking becomes unnecessary and performance is much more fuel efficient.
