W2E 3.X MW Wind Turbine Model With Winergy Medium-Speed Hybriddrive - Video
A joint effort between four German companies: wind turbine design consultancy W2E Wind to Energy GmbH, wind turbine OEM Fuhrländer AG and Siemens AG / Winergy AG as key component suppliers, W2E's 3.x MW wind turbine platform deploys Winergy's medium-speed HybridDrive.
For the purpose of DNV-GL testing, W2E installed and commissioned two W2E-120/3.0fc HybridDrive models in Nov. 2013 and Oct. 2014, respectively, at its proving grounds near the W2E headquarter in Rostock, Germany.
Various normal system optimizations and performance tests resulted in lowered technical availabilities in the 90%-95% bracket in 2014 and 2015. After conclusion of testing and optimization annual technical availabilities have been in the 96%-99% bracket.
As indicated by the industry standard availabilities, the W2E 3.x MW platform performs as expected. Noteworthy, specifically the medium-speed Winergy HybridDrive has performed flawlessly ever since commissioning.
W2E 3.x MW platform wind turbines are operating in wind farms in Germany and the Ukraine. Platform options are: power ratings up to 3.5MW, rotor diameters up to 145m and tower heights up to 140m. For more information visit: www.wind2energy.de.
