West Wind Power’s wind mill is a patented innovative micro wind mill design that captures energy from the natural phenomena of air flow. It uses innovative slit position and width and hyperbolic intake and exhaust designs to more than double the ambient wind speeds. This increase makes economically feasible wind power in low wind environments (sub-class 4) possible. We have made significant progress in turning our vision into reality and our product has potential to be a “Black Swan” to change the dynamics of the huge green energy markets.

Our vision is to install our system at farms, office buildings, parking garages and commercial establishments like gas stations, restaurants and large retail stores. We also envision our system in backyards or roofs of homes to generate clean energy to reduce utility bills and power electric vehicles. Our potential customers include –, military, schools, commercial, and residential customers, it is also applicable for small farms, water installations, remote areas, tall buildings, garages, and suburbs.

How We Found It

West Wind Power is started by four Kentucky residents, three of founders have PhD‘s in Engineering and Physics.

West Wind Power Inc. has a patent design for a wind funnel which focuses the wind going in order to double the ambient wind speeds. This device combined with our Patent Pending hybrid solution delivers a self-contained power generation unit that can be used to generate and store power 24 x 7 even at low wind speeds.

We first created a CFD model of the Wind Mill. Once we had optimized the design for it, we created an STL file and prepared it for machining. The first prototype was hand made using high grade Aluminum. The size of the prototype of .33 M intake. Once the prototype was machined, we field tested it to match with our predictions from CFD analysis. The prototype results were around 93% of our predicted values. Since then we have started optimizing the design and made several modifications.

Our current model is a 2 M intake design. The 2M diameter intake system is to provide power to water pumps for small farms and also to power green houses.

Our team strongly believes that the innovative technology has sizable commercial potential because of its simplicity and its ability to provide power 24 x 7 in both rural and urban settings.

Our device is significantly, cheaper leading to enhance affordability. WWP management team strongly believes that our innovative technology has tremendous commercial potential because of its simplicity and its ability to provide power 24 x 7 in both rural and urban settings. We have successfully designed an intake chamber and coupled it to solar panels in order to increase the financial viability, this is due to enhanced ambient wind speeds to levels not previously viable. The Wind Mill coupled with the solar panels are capable of producing 2kW of power which can yield in excess of 5000kWh of electricity generation.
