The Canal Boba and Las Barias Hydro projects were developed by the local Dominican utility with the Montreal engineering firm of Dessau Soprin. CHC provided two identical water-to-wire equipment packages, each including a 1250 mm axial flow Kaplan turbine, 900 kW/450 RPM synchronous generator hydraulic power unit and switchgear, controls and protection package.
The projects were commissioned in 2006 and 2009 respectively.
