Livermore Falls Hydro - Case study

SHARE
Apr. 17, 2019

Located on the Androscoggin River in Maine, the Livermore Falls hydro project required the installation of a turbine unit that would meet government minimum flow requirements on the river.

CHC provided a water-to-wire equipment package which included a 1500 mm axial flow propeller turbine along with generator, hydraulic power unit, switchgear and controls to comply with the minimum flow requirements. The new turbine able to produce 980 kW of power was commissioned in 2004.

In 2012, CHC provided 1160 mm replacement Francis runners for two of the plant’s eight older units.
