Agripellets Ltd.

Agripellets is a Warwickshire based producer of biomass pellets derived from straw, miscanthus and other energy crops/by-product. Our customers range from commerical offices and green houses through to domestic households. Set up in 2004 as a farm diversification, to process local agricultural crop by-products and energy crops into high quality pellets iIt has built and operates its own processing facility in the centre of England near Stratford on Avon and is within 30mins of Birmingham. Agripellets can deliver a wide range of biomass pellets as well as a range of multi fuel biomass boilers. Our products offer a locally produced, secure, sustainable, economic, energy supply and importantly, as they are primarily derived from agricultural crop by-products they do not affect food prices. We feel our products can make a real contribution to combating climate change whilst offering the security of supply, cost effectiveness and quality a British produced product can deliver.

The process of pelleting dramatically increases product energy density, in the case of wheat straw from approximately 140 kg/m3 in bale form to 550 kg/m3 in pellet form.

Agri- Pellet production starts with the inputs being delivered to the processing plant.

The biomass is checked for moisture content and contamination before being loaded onto conveyors which take it through a process which grinds and drys the biomass to a uniform size and moisture content. From there it is conveyed into a buffer silo.

The biomass fiber is then taken from the buffer silo via a conditioning auger( where additives are added if required) at a controllable rate into the pellet press. There the biomass is forced through a die into pellets.

The pellets leave the press at high temperature into a cooler from where there are screened for quality and to remove fines before being stored or bagged prior to delivery.

The total energy, used in the processing of baled wheat straw or miscanthus into pellets, is approximately 1.5% of the energy value of the finished product, as opposed to 6.7% in the production of standard wood pellets.

As we collect our biomass resources locally and pelleted products have 3 times the density as well as a third more energy per kg than standard woodchip there overall carbon footprint is very favourable.

Agripellets believe there is huge potential for its products as they are derivived from truely sustainably resources. With gas, oil and coal prices at record levels and predicated to go even higher levels, along with climate change now universally accepted, we feel our products will offer a sustainable and economic supply of energy.

A UK government (EU legislated) target of 15% renewable energy by 2020 will also encourage the growth of our markets. A glance at our table of biomass power stations operational or planned (link) will give an indication of potential demand for biomass products.

Agripellets will continue to work with customers to develop our products further and into new markets.

All our products are derived from local agricultural by-products. We take control of our virgin feedstocks from harvesting, processing at our own plant, to packing ensuring their carbon footprint is kept to a minimium.

All our products have annual carbon cycle's ensuring they are much more sustainable than wood products which can have up to 30 year carbon cycles.

'A clean, compact product that is easy to use, store and handle ..'

Pelleted and briquetted products increase density, create stable, uniform, flow-able products which allow easy boiler modulating and are much cheaper to transport and store than loose products such as wood chip. Our products have a high calorific value and can be burned in appropriate pellet boilers, stoves and chimeneas(for outdoor heating) using pellet baskets.

We also offer a range of pellets which can be used for bedding animals.

'Agripellets manufacture a range of biomass pellets derivived from agricultural residues. Our products offer sustainable, affordable alternatives to woodfuels allowing our customers to maximise there financial and carbon saving.'

All our products have annual carbon cycles as opposed to wood where the carbon cycle can be up to 30 years

In addition our products are derived from local sourced agricultural by-products. We take control of our virgin feedstocks from harvesting, processing at our own plant, to packing ensuring their carbon footprint is kept to a minimium.

Our products have a high calorific value and can be burned in appropriate pellet boilers or stoves as well as multi fuel log stoves using pellet baskets.

We can also supply and install a range of multi-fuel biomass boilers ranging from 60 to 1000kw through our subsidary PelletEnergy. These biomass boilers qualify for the recently introduced Renewable Heat Incentve (RHI). Please see http://www.rhincentive.co.uk/

'Agripellets processes virgin agricultural by products and energy crops into biomass pellets for use as renewable fuels in appropriate pellet boilers and stoves..'

All our feedstocks are sourced locally from sustainable resources and are processed using advanced technology to minimise the carbon footprint of our products.

All our products have annual carbon cycle's ensuring they are much more sustainable than wood products which can have up to 30 year carbon cycles.

For domestic customers we offer our premium 'Harvest' range of straw and miscanthus pellets. These have improved combustion properties over our standard commercial pellets and are screened to ensure they are of the highest quality.
