In 2009, Maj Invest Equity (formerly LD Invest Equity) invested in Solum A/S to make way for further growth.
Since 1999, Solum Gruppen has invested more than DKK 45 million in the development of the Aikan concept. The development has further been supported by the EU Life Program, EUDP and the Danish Government programs MUDP and PSO.
In 2014, The Danish Environmental Protection Agency published a report on the Aikan Agri solution. The report (Miljøprojekt nr. 1586, 2014 - English summary on p.7) describes how to integrate the Aikan Technology with existing plants, which mainly handle liquid biogradable waste.
