We represent those who make the essential paper and wood products Americans use every day. We advocate for a strong and sustainable U.S. paper and wood products industry. Our members create products such as toilet paper, paper towels, boxes and packaging, paper bags, notebook paper and lumber. They make about 87% of the pulp, paper, paper-based packaging and tissue products made in the U.S. Our members are small, medium and large companies in rural and urban communities across the country. The U.S. forest products industry: Accounts for approximately 5% of the total U.S. manufacturing GDP, Produces about $350 billion in products a year, Employs about 925,000, Meets a payroll of approximately $65 billion, Is among the top 10 manufacturing sector employers in 43 states.
