Wolfram Walter, a graduate engineer, was looking for an extremely small, lightweight, state-of-the-art storage system for his domestic photovoltaic system. Enter Gerd Knoll, Managing Director of Knoll-Feinmechanik GmbH, an equally ambitious engineer and an expert in process automation and innovative photovoltaics. Together, they came up with the idea of an independent solar storage system with a specification to offer the highest possible level of independence. Just two years on, and ASD is today a state-of-the-art-company. The offices in Umkirch near Freiburg, Germany, have just been completed. The future is already underway.
