Baterpol purchases and processes lead-acid battery scrap. Our company is also an important producer of refined lead and lead alloys. The company was established in 1996 by Impexmetal S.A. and the Environmental Protection Fund of the Province (Voivodeship) of Katowice. with the participation of the `Szopienice` non-ferrous Metals Smelter, `Silesia` Metallurgical Works and car battery producer ZAP `Piastów`. The modern Lead-acid Battery Processing plant in Świętochłowice-Lipiny started production in 1997. In 2001 Baterpol joined up with the Lead Refining Department of `Szopienice` non-ferrous Metals Smelter based in Katowice which made `Baterpol` a major lead producer in Poland. We are deeply aware that purchasing and processing of lead-acid battery scrap has a positive impact on the environment in our large agglomeration.
