We manage 837 district and local heating or cooling systems worldwide, particularly in France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltic States. In general, we do not own the systems, but usually provide management, upkeep and maintenance services on behalf of the local authorities that do. The systems are designed to supply heat, domestic hot water and air conditioning to public and private buildings such as schools, healthcare institutions, office buildings and residential buildings.

Buildings of all kinds are major consumers of energy in the form of heating, cooling, lighting and hot water. Dalkia develops energy services that enable building owners to balance occupant comfort with energy savings and environmental performance. Dalkia provides integrated energy services, such as installation design, development and upgrading, energy supply and facility operation and maintenance to businesses and local authorities. With close to 123,500 energy plants managed worldwide, we offer a broad array of technical solutions.

Food and beverage manufacturers regularly run their businesses around the clock, while maintaining the highest standards for reliability and cleanliness. Operating in very large facilities, these manufacturers are often one of their region’s largest consumers of energy, both in electricity and gas. With increasing pressures to save money while operating in an environmentally-friendly manner, they seek energy savings projects which will not disrupt manufacturing processes which have already undergone regulatory compliance testing.

Supermarkets and grocery stores have steady and long energy consumption patterns. While consumers shop morning through evening every day, the systems within these stores operate with even longer hours. Refrigeration systems cool stored food or drink products in display, case and walk in coolers, constantly compensating against rooftop based HVAC for the general store area and outside air from storefront entrances and loading dock areas. Overhead, task, and case general lighting systems illuminate the front and back areas of the store while ovens, fryers, stoves and kettles contribute heat into refrigerated food preparation areas.
